A common question “Can I tap this?”

Why this class

Most people can learn. They just need a patient teacher.

Family members can help, but they cannot always be there. English notices, government apps, WeChat settings and scam messages all require a little confidence and judgement.

01

English notices

Bank, clinic, school or Medicare messages can be hard to judge at first glance.

02

Everyday apps

myGov, Service NSW, HotDoc and Google Maps are useful, but many seniors are afraid to tap.

03

Scam awareness

Fake banks, fake parcels and fake government alerts are getting harder to recognise.

Small class smartphone practice
Class rhythm The teacher demonstrates, learners follow, and we stop and repeat whenever someone gets stuck.

How it works

Less theory. More hands-on practice.

Real-phone practice Learners use their own phones, so they can keep using the same steps at home.
Chinese coaching Patient, practical explanations in plain Chinese.
Small classes Up to four people, so everyone can be looked after.
Safety boundary We do not type passwords or handle payments or sensitive operations.

Class formats

OpenAID teacher Vince

Teacher

Teaching experience, technology background, and patience for older learners.

I have worked in education and in the IT industry. That combination helps me see a simple gap: AI is moving quickly, but few people are helping older Chinese-speaking learners keep up safely.

Many AI courses exist, but very few are designed for seniors who need calm, practical, everyday guidance. OpenAID focuses on what people can actually use in daily life.

Why I started this class Older learners are not unable to learn. They need someone to explain things in a way that feels clear, safe and repeatable.
